JeanJean Olive Grove
The JeanJean Olive Grove is all about a family who started their business on the outskirts of the Camargue, just a few kilometres from Nîmes.
The olive trees were planted as far as the eye can see by Marcel Jeanjean and his son Fabien 20 years ago.
The 10,000 olive trees, of 7 different varieties, are all grown in full respect of the environment and according to organic farming practices. Each product is processed right here on the estate and Fabien, the master miller, extracts the wonderful flavours from the harvested fruit, to produce the green gold that makes such a great addition to your table.
Passionate about great taste, he is always looking for new tapenade recipes, and inventing the most daring of combinations.
In 2015, they invested in new equipment, meaning that they could invite visitors to come and discover the world of olive growing. Outdoors, in the midst of the olive trees, there is an educational tour where visitors can learn about working the land, pruning and harvesting. Indoors, there is an interactive tool to find out about what goes on inside the processing workshop (in operation from October to the end of December). A film about the major steps of the production process is also shown in the video room.
