Delta Fishing

The boat:
My boat is moored on the Rhône, not far from the mouth of the river, and it is a real machine of war.
It is a brand-new Pro 2000, the Open 7000 model, is 7 metres long, unsinkable and fully equipped with a unique space especially designed for fishing. This boat is ideal for spotting schools of fish and fishing with lures, and can easily accommodate 4 people in complete safety.
The boat is equipped with a Mercury 4-stroke EFI 150 HP engine which is reliable and silent (essential when approaching schools of fish) and the very latest marine electronics (Sounder/GPS Hummingbird 999 SCI).
The boat is also equipped with all the necessary safety equipment for the high seas:
- a long-range VHF,
- quick-inflating life jackets,
- a life raft and any other equipment for the high seas.

Schedule and departure locations:
The boat departs from the Port Saint Louis du Rhône at around 8am and comes back to the dock at around 5pm.
The schedule may vary depending on the seasons, the weather conditions and the species of fish.

Prices and gift vouchers:
Prices vary between €225 and €250 depending on the number of people fishing and the type of fishing techniques. All equipment is provided, including lures, as well as lunch and drinks.

The seasons:
Outings are organised between April and November.
Red tuna fishing is only authorised during a specific period (even for No Kill), generally between the beginning of July and the end of October.
Leerfish can usually be caught between July and the end of September.
Any other species can be caught all year round.

Cyril Gressot is the first fishing guide to operate from the Port Saint Louis du Rhône and he has over 20 years' experience in the Rhône Delta. He is specialised in tuna and leerfish fishing by approaching schools of fish, and he is an Engineer in Marine Biology (with a Masters' Degree in Biology and another in Marine Biology and Aquaculture).
