100% Caladoc, 100% Chasan or 100% Marselan from the oldest grapevines in the world. You'll also appreciate the fruity and fresh wines of the Esprit range, and the voluptuous and complex wines of the Les Secrets de Cornille range.
At the heart of our Camargue region, the 110 hectares of vines are divided between 2 main terroirs. We came across the sandy-silt soils around the estate, which are ideal for the production of our oldest Marselan wine. We also manage plots on the Crau plateau, which is an exceptional place that is perfectly suited to Chardonnay and Syrah grape varieties. The stony, clay-limestone soils are ideal for producing great wines. The Domaine du Mas de Rey is an independent winegrower and has more than fifteen different grape varieties.
The oldest vines are about 30 years old, while others were planted more recently. This is a young and healthy vineyard which allows us to produce good quality grapes. We grow rare and local grape varieties such as Chasan, Caladoc and Marselan. The oldest Marselan in the world was planted in front of the estate. This indigenous grape variety features in each of our red wines, both as a blended and single variety. We are always looking into new ways of cultivating the vines. In an effort to respect the environment, we have planted grape varieties that are resistant to vine diseases and require less treatment. One of our recent challenges has been to begin the conversion to organic farming in 2020. The Domaine is expected to obtain this certification in 2023.
