The Mère Brazier restaurant was founded in Lyon by Eugénie Brazier, who was born on a farm in the late 19th century. After having a child out of wedlock, she left her family and came to Lyon to work as a wet nurse. She then became a cook, trained under the renowned Mère Fillioux, and opened her first restaurant in 1921. A few years later, she opened a second one at the Col de la Luère. She won over the palates of the finest gourmets of her time. For more than a century, people from all walks of life have taken their place at the tables of this restaurant, which has since become an institution.

Today, the spirit of Mère Brazier lives on through traditional cuisine reinterpreted by acclaimed chef Mathieu Viannay. Discover signature Mère Brazier dishes, revisited with elegance and crafted using local produce. The richness and quality of this cuisine, awarded two Michelin stars, uphold and perpetuate Lyon’s gastronomic reputation.
The cuisine can accommodate vegetarian diets.
