Day 1
Beaujeu > Belleville-en-Beaujolais
Start
La Maison du Terroir Beaujolais - museum
As you wander through the rooms, let yourself be guided on a lively, sensory, and gourmet journey to the heart of Beaujolais. Here, the terroir is not just described: it is felt, tasted, and experienced.
Immerse yourself in the fervor of traditional festivals, let the landscapes roll by before your eyes as if you were flying over them, then let your senses guide you through the flavors and know-how of the four seasons. From aromas to textures, images to sounds, and even the secrets of the local geology, each space awakens curiosity and emotion.
Discover the temporary exhibition “Impressions beaujolaises” Part 1: Lucia Fiore & the Beaujolais Mountains
From Belleville in Beaujolais to Deux-Grosnes, the exhibition invites you to (re)discover our landscapes through a variety of perspectives: artistic, geological, historical, anthropological... In 2026, guest artist Lucia Fiore, a feather artist, will accompany you through the first part of the exhibition, dedicated to the Beaujolais mountains.
This exhibition is part of the project Le Musée Marius Audin sort de ses murs (The Marius Audin Museum Steps Outside Its Walls) at the Maison du Terroir Beaujolais. The Marius Audin Museum houses around 10,000 works related to the history of Beaujeu and the Beaujolais region. Recognized as a “Musée de France,” the site is closed to the public for renovation. It has therefore partnered with the Maison du Terroir Beaujolais to present the heart of its collection there.
Finally, whet your appetite with gourmet insights from chefs and producers in the screening room: recipes, techniques, and stories to savor.
Duration: 1 hour.
And also:
Take the time to browse the shop and discover the passionate work of producers and artisans through each product. Beaujolais wines, regional specialties, local creations, and a bookshop dedicated to the region make this a welcoming place where you can choose a heartfelt souvenir or a gift basket tailored to your desires. All Beaujolais wine appellations are represented here.
Then set off to explore the Beaujolais Greenway and its cycle routes. On a hybrid or electric bike, enjoy a gentle escape through the countryside. Helmets, locks, and itineraries are provided; children's mountain bikes, trailers, and baby carriers allow you to share the adventure with your family.
Finally, look up at the half-timbered house and its 14th- and 16th-century Renaissance courtyard. Every month, paintings, photographs, sculptures, drawings, and pottery enrich this place steeped in history and inspiration.

Step 1
The "Oils and Gourmet Treats" workshop
Since 1982, Jean Marc Montegottero and his team have been perpetuating the artisanal production of 100% fruit-based virgin oils; a fine, completely natural product: one fruit...one oil.
Over the years, L'Huilerie Beaujolaise has won the confidence of the greatest French and foreign chefs, making them ambassadors for its exceptional products.
As part of our partnership with the Vallée de la Gastronomie, we invite you to spend half a day discovering our expertise.
To awaken your taste buds, your journey will begin in Belleville-en-Beaujolais, where Loïc Piètre will offer you a culinary workshop based on one or more of our products (oils, vinegars or fruit powder).
It's not a cooking class, but you'll be able to get your hands dirty on an occasional basis. And, of course, you'll be able to taste what's been prepared in front of you.
At the end of this "mise en bouche", you'll be given a recipe card so you can reproduce this gastronomic experience at home.
A short 20-minute drive will take you to the gates of our Beaujeu mill, giving you an insight into our beautiful Beaujolais region. The guided tour of this 19th-century workshop will reveal some of our manufacturing secrets. Afterwards, you can sample our oils and vinegars and visit our boutique.
We cannot guarantee that the mill will be operational during the tours.

Arrival
Domaine Philippe Aufranc
My grandfather acquired the estate in 1935. At the time it was a mixture of grapevines and meadows. The estate is set on sandy-granite soil in the middle of the hillside, east of the 'Madone de Fleurie' hill in a hamlet called Prion, and in 1978 the vineyard became the estate’s main activity. Today, it covers 7 hectares of land.
As the son, grandson and great-grandson of winegrowers, I came to live on the family estate in 1984, at the age of 20. The estate has been managed according to the 'Terra Vitis' agroecology approach for 20 years now.
