Mâcon

Southern Burgundy cultivates its gentle way of life in the Mâconnais mountains valleys. High place of prehistory, the cradle of Romanesque art, land of vineyards, the Mâconnais seduces visitors in search of old stones, stories and good wines.

Goat's cheese PDO Mâconnais

Originally from Mâcon and recognisable by its specific shape, the Mâconnais PDO is a cru product par excellence. This truncated cone-shaped goat's cheese was born near the vines. Rooted in the terroir, it encourages beautiful combinations: White Mâcon or red Mâcon depending on its maturity.

La Roche de Solutré

An emblematic relief of southern Burgundy, La Roche de Solutré rises in the Mâconnais vineyards' heart. This spectacular cliff shelters at its feet an exceptional prehistoric deposit dating back 50,000 years. At the top, the breathtaking view is still surprising every day.

Cluny and Tournus abbeys

While the Abbey of Cluny, founded in 910, imposed itself for centuries on the whole of Christendom, at the turn of the year 1000 ,the Abbey of Saint-Philibert de Tournus laid Burgundian Romanesque art foundations. Through the monks' work,  these religious art jewels are linked to the region wine-growing destiny.
